The Donovan Catholic Football Team continues to make its mark in 2026, entering this Friday's highly anticipated matchup against Red Bank Catholic with a perfect 7-0 record, the No. 1 ranking in the Shore Conference, and a spot among New Jersey's Top 20 teams.

Under the leadership of head coach Dan Curcione, the Griffins have established themselves as one of the state's premier programs, combining an explosive offense with a dominant defense.

Leading the offensive attack is senior quarterback Kahden Davis, a Columbia University commit who has thrown for more than 1,100 yards and 11 touchdowns. Senior running back Alex Staten recently surpassed the 1,000-yard rushing milestone and has recorded 1,068 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns. Senior receiver Aidan Kelly has also been a key contributor with nearly 500 receiving yards.

Defensively, the Griffins have been equally impressive, allowing fewer than eight points per game. Senior Jason Madden, a UConn commit, anchors a talented defensive unit alongside Henry Byrnes, Diondre Foendoe, and Jael Hester, an East Carolina commit.

Donovan Catholic's undefeated run includes impressive victories over Rumson-Fair Haven and Point Pleasant Boro, positioning the Griffins as legitimate contenders for a state championship.

This Friday, October 16, the Griffins host the No. 2-ranked Red Bank Catholic Caseys (5-2) at 6:30 PM in one of the Shore Conference's biggest matchups of the season.

With postseason aspirations and an undefeated record on the line, the Griffins will look to continue their remarkable season in front of their home crowd. Come out Friday night and support your Griffins!
