Head Boys Soccer Coach Mike Benson recently attended the United Soccer Coaches Convention, where he represented Donovan Catholic with a box full of school brochures and began building valuable relationships with college coaches and top-level club programs.
While there, Coach Benson participated in sessions led by respected coaches and former players from around the world. He had the opportunity to hear from renowned figures such as Roberto Martínez, manager of the Portugal Men’s National Team; Diego Contento, former Bayern Munich player who now coaches in the club’s academy; as well as several prominent New Jersey soccer leaders, including Glenn Crooks, former Rutgers University women’s coach, and U.S. National Team players Tab Ramos and John Harkes, both from Kearny, NJ.
Coach Benson and trainer Laszlo Juhasz are excited about what lies ahead and look forward to continuing to grow the future of soccer at Donovan Catholic!
