On Saturday, September 9th the boys and girls Cross Country teams opened their season at the Cherokee Challenge. The girls team finished 15th out of 52 teams at the meet. The girls had 4 individual medal winners with Emily Weigle placing 14th out of 188 runners in the senior race, Angela Gibbons placing 9th out of 172 runners in the sophomore race, and Maeve Smith placing 20th and Natalie DiNallo placing 29th out of 154 runners in the freshmen race.

In the boys competition, Gavin Oliver won the freshmen boys race, placing 1st out of 330 runners. Gavin's time of 10:36 sets a new school record for a 3200 meter Cross Country race.
