This past weekend (October 7 & 8) the Varsity Sailing Team placed 3rd behind CBA by one point at the New Jersey Fall Championship hosted at the Toms River Yacht Club. Twelve schools from around New Jersey faced heavy winds on the Toms River both Saturday and Sunday. Southern won A Division by one point over Donovan's seniors James Kopack and Caroline Felser. Sophomore Liam Marcell and senior Nick Fatigate placed 4th in a tough B Division. Southern Regional, CBA, Donovan Catholic and Seton Hall Prep have now qualified for the Mid-Atlantic District Fall Championship which will be held at St. Mary’s College of Maryland later this month.
