On Tuesday, October 15, the girls Cross Country team competed in the Ocean County Championships at Ocean County Park. The girls finished in 2nd place in the team standings, 11 points behind Toms River North. This is the best finish for the girls XC team at the Ocean County Championships since winning the title in 2006. The 5 man average for the girls of 20:19.43 was the 5th best in school history, and the best since 2008. The girls were led by junior Angie Gibbons who placed 6th with a personal best time of 19:35.43 Sophomore Maeve Smith also finished in the top 10, placing 9th with a personal best time of 20:09.55. Freshman Caroline Eberle ran a personal best 20:13.74 to place 11th. Rounding out the top 7 for the girls in the varsity race were junior Sabrina Roselli (20th place - 20:30.77), freshman Cate Erler (30th place - PB: 21:07.67), sophomore Natalie DiNallo ( 37th - PB: 21:27.29), and junior Grace Ciak (56th - 22:44). In the JV girls race, sophomore Kenley Chambers placed 2nd with a personal best of 21:43. Other strong performances at the meet were put in by seniors Kylie Przeniosle and Rhiannon Asch (PR: 27:56.72), and junior Julianna Pineda.
